Registration for the Fall season (starting on Sept. 24th) will open on Monday, April 23rd and stays open through the summer until filled. Parent Input for New Principal Selection

Parents who wish to provide input concerning the selection of the new principal are encouraged to send input to DPS. Below are examples of input that you have the opportunity to provide:

• Desired characteristics
• Desired qualities
• Assets
• Traits
• Particular skills
• Particular experience

The information that is gathered will be used to develop a principal profile and a list of questions and issues for the applicant screening and selection process.
If you were unable to attend the input session, you can provide input through e-mail or written communication that will be collected daily until Friday, May 25th. For those wishing to send in letters, please send in your written communications in a sealed envelope and labeled: “Pearsontown Parent Input” to the front office. Parents wishing to send e-mails should write to valarie.brown@dpsnc.net.

Weird Science Update!!

The 3-5 grades camp will meet every Monday* for the next 4 weeks. For those accepted, you should have received a phone call and email confirming your child’s seat for the 3-5 camp. If you did not receive either one, your child did not get in. These enrichment camps are based on a first come first serve basis, and seats are limited. Since the responses were so great, we are working on offering more enrichment camps for the upcoming school year. Please stay tuned to the PTA website for details. As a reminder, the 3-5 camp dates are as follows:

• 3 – 5 will meet each Monday starting May 14th through Monday, June 4th from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
• *(Monday, May 28th is a holiday and school will be closed. Makeup day will be Wednesday, May 30th. Please mark your calendars.

PTA Memberships are now $8.00 per person.

They can be purchased in the front office. Memberships can also be purchased by community and family members, and friends, so we encourage all of you to reach out and help us get to our goal of 360!
